We did the first 12 minutes at steady pace, then we went hard the last 3. Shawn Mendez was playing most of the time (#blest:) T&#39;was a great time. Then for Senior Ball we went hiking in Zions and it was SOOOO PRETTY! I had never been and it was beautiful! Senior Ball was a party! Skyridge was the school I would have gone to if I didn&#39;t move so I was able to see some old friends:) I raced and I had a 4 second PR and I won my race! One thing that I did well is that I was patient the first lap and me and Haley were almost in last place the first 300m!! Then we both started passing people and it was super fun!&nbsp;One thing that I am going to do differently next race is really push myself the 3rd lap. Coach said that I was on pace for state the first 800 but I unconciously slowed down lap 3. I&#39;m going to work on that for sure. The one mile was first and I was just excited to go out and run. I felt really good during my race and I was able to PR and win my race!! Although I only PR by like 2 seconds every race it&#39;s improvement. Then 4 hours later I ran the two mile.......oh boy. I was feeling really good and then at the 200m on lap 5 my legs gave out and I totally fell on the ground. It was really weird but I popped back up and was able to finish in second behind Lauren. It was a good overall race and I&#39;m super excited to see what I can do at BYU/Skyridge!!</p> <p>Also I was reading Elite Minds and there was an awesome quote, &quot;Every race should be a liquidation sale. Everything goes. Everything. When the race is over, you should be empty. Hollow. Spent. Done. Nothing left. Once you are empty, all that is left is contentment.&quot; My goal for my next race is to give everything I have and to leave everything out there. No regrets. Ima qualify for state! Man, I felt AMAZING! All I wanted to do was go out and have some fun, and I did! I&#39;ve decided that I don&#39;t want to waste my time&nbsp;in life on things that don&#39;t make me or other people happy, and running hasn&#39;t been the most fun for the last little while because I was too caught up in comparing myself to others. But I changed my whole outlook on&nbsp;it and I&#39;ve started (it&#39;s definitley a process) to just let go of all the judgements, expectations, and stereotypes and have learned to love myself, and stop basing my self-worth off of season bests and PR&#39;s. I raced with that attitude and guess what? I PR&#39;ed! I&#39;m starting to find my best because I&#39;m not obsessing over it, and I love it! I LOVE RUNNING!!!&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Also, super excited to run the 800 tomorrow with my awesome teammates!</p> <p>Way to go Lauren, Anna, Shawnee, Lex, and Laynee! I actually felt really accomplished and happy after I did it. We did an 800, 200, 200 then again 800, 200, 200 then we finished with a 600, 200, 200, and 200. It was really fun and on EVERY rep we got faster!! It was an awesome feeling that I can&#39;t really explain. I found my best for a few seconds I guess...pure awesome!!</p> <p>Also I was reading Elite Minds (highly recommend, AMAZING) and one of the points it brought up was that great athletes and coaches don&#39;t separate the practice from the performance, and my goal for the rest of this week is to train with that mindset. What a good time.</p> <p>PM: 7 miles</p> <p>Our team ran the BHNP loop and it was a kind of difficult run to be honest. I feel like my legs are just shutting down. I love running the 3200! It was hard the first time I ran it, but this time was totally different. I was tempted to go out with the fastest pack, but I stayed with the middle pack for the first mile and a half. Then I decided I was gonna make my move and I did. I ended up with a 25 second PR! The difference in my race today was that I told myself that running was fun (cuz it is:) and that I was totally mentally prepared for my race.
