I am a Sophomore at Desert Hills High School, and I love to run!! If I'm not running I like to swim, play basketball, football, and soccer, hang with my friends and fam, and eat at chick-fil-a:)

Also I'm gonna be a world famous hurdler.

AM: 3 miles easy + Weights

PM: 5 miles

Today we did a 2 mile warm-up then we did a 2 mile surge workout. We just started running at threshold pace, then when coach would blow the whistle we would all surge. I stayed with the group until the last lap then I fell off a little bit, but that's ok, tomorrow is a new day! And then we went on a 1 mile cooldown. It was raining while we ran and it was AMAZING!! Running in the rain reminds me how much I truly love to run and how happy it makes me:)

AM: Yoga:)

PM: PANTHER RELAYS 

The Panther Relays were sooo fun!! I ran the 800 meter leg in the distance medley and the sprint medley and it was way fun. Also I did the high hurdle relay with my team and we killed it:) I think ima be a world famous hurdler lol

Yesterday we ran the quality loop and it was...well...pretty quality. After we got to the Spectrum, the run felt really fast and it just felt good to run, and it helped me remember that I truly love to run and it makes me a happier, and better person:)

Team pictures are always and adventure.....40 minutes later we had taken 3 picutres lol. Then we went on a run to the Spectrum and had a jolly good time, it kinda hurt tho and we got back at 4:21 hahaha. Soooooo excited to see everyone race tomorrow and super psyched to run the 3200 meters on Saturday!!!! Dhills invite is gonna be great!

Did a 1.5 mile warm-up then ran the 3200 then a 2 mile cool down. It was my first 32 and holy crap that was the longest, hardest race I have ever run. It was kinda frustrating mentally and I fell behind. But after this race I realized that I'm not gonna have a good race every week and that everyone has bad days or races. But I am grateful for the hard races so that when the good races come I am much more appreciative of them and use them to push myself harder. I love running so much!!

Oh yeah, preference was a BLAST! Thanks Mikey! They almost shut it down like 4 times tho lol

PM:Today I ran 4.5 miles on the turf with Serra and Aydia and then I did some strides. I didn't run with the rest of the team today cause I had a student council interview, we'll see how that went lol. Great run today tho, love running with my teammates!

Ran the 800 today and it was really fun! It was the first time I ran it this season and it was windy but a good experience. I didn't get passed and I was able to surge a few times. Not terrible for being sick

AM: Ran the one mile today! It was actually a really weird race but it was good. I had an outdoor PR by 2 seconds but I went out really fast. I need to work on my form a little and my race strategy but I really love running and hope to improve myself rather than comparing myself to others. I'm so excited to race again!

PM: Work....they sent me home early cuz I was sick lol

Today we did a workout at the high school and it was pretty fast but we had a lot of recovery. We did some 200's 300's a 400 and a 600. Then we had a delicous breakfast after:) Twas delicous

Today we ran church rocks and I'm not gonna lie, it was rough! I kept coughing and couldn't breathe but next run will be better. We did go through this awesome tunnel tho!! Pretty cool. And later we had a grilled cheese off and it was very close battle..but I think I won by .1 of a point hahaha

Whohoo! Today was a pretty good day for running.  We did a surge/fartlek workout. It was like a race simulation for the 1600 and it was fun! I was able to stay up with the first group today:)

Yesterday was pretty gr8. Me, Bae Sue, and Chloe had to take the College Accuplacer test so we ran on our own. We found like a million bees burrowing into the ground and we almost got attacked but we made it somehow:) we had lots of great convos about boys, IQ levels, and mental exercise hahaha. It was good just to run and have fun with my homies

Went and watched the Dixie Invite and man, the girls CRUSHED IT!!!!! And Trin qualified for state! Whooohooo! It's getting to the exciting part of the season, and I'm ready to qualify for state and excited to run the 3200 tomorrow:)

AM: Ran the 3200

PM: Went to work hahaha

WHOOOHOOO!!! I love running the 3200! It was hard the first time I ran it, but this time was totally different. I was tempted to go out with the fastest pack, but I stayed with the middle pack for the first mile and a half. Then I decided I was gonna make my move and I did. I ended up with a 25 second PR! The difference in my race today was that I told myself that running was fun (cuz it is:) and that I was totally mentally prepared for my race. I tried to smile while I ran (its harder than it looks lol) and it help me release tension and help me remeber that I absolutley love to run even though it is hard sometimes, it's definitley worth it:) GO RUNNING!!

AM: 1 mile...

Tried to do a morning run.....did a mile then I had to stop because I was getting weird pains in my knees....

4TH PERIOD: 1 mile

Did the PE mile....tied with Bailey *dab* We finished with a stunning time of 6:52 lol. What a good time.

PM: 7 miles

Our team ran the BHNP loop and it was a kind of difficult run to be honest. I feel like my legs are just shutting down. I'm getting new shoes tho so that should help out:) Although it's hard sometimes I still love to run!!

AM: Slept in...oops missed the 3 miles but did weights

PM: 7 miles- interval workout

Today Bailey, Sam, Hailey, and I did the 3200 girls workout. I actually felt really accomplished and happy after I did it. We did an 800, 200, 200 then again 800, 200, 200 then we finished with a 600, 200, 200, and 200. It was really fun and on EVERY rep we got faster!! It was an awesome feeling that I can't really explain. I found my best for a few seconds I guess...pure awesome!!

Also I was reading Elite Minds (highly recommend, AMAZING) and one of the points it brought up was that great athletes and coaches don't separate the practice from the performance, and my goal for the rest of this week is to train with that mindset. Train like I race and just strive to find my best!

Running today was great. A lot of our girls were gone on a field trip tho! Ran with Anna, Lauren, Laynee, Lexi, Shawnee, Sam, and Lady Coach. T'was a good run and I heard many boy stories lol. It was very educational hahaha. Also I'm trying this new thing called eating healthy and it's real hard. 

Then I went to work and Anna B and I made a list of all the worst things I've ever done....it's never a dull moment lemme tell ya:)

Yesterday was a good day for running:) We just had a chill run and talked. I am SOOOOOO excited to race at Cedar tomorrow!! All I can do is my best, and I'll be happy with it. Also I was reading Elite Minds again and it was talking about how success and happiness cannot be pursued, it has to ensue (Victor Frankl). I'm just gonna always do my best and have fun, then success and happiness will follow me. GO RUNNING!

PM: RACE!!!!

1 mile warm-up, 1 mile race, 1 mile cool-down

Today was the 1600 meter at Cedar. Man, I felt AMAZING! All I wanted to do was go out and have some fun, and I did! I've decided that I don't want to waste my time in life on things that don't make me or other people happy, and running hasn't been the most fun for the last little while because I was too caught up in comparing myself to others. But I changed my whole outlook on it and I've started (it's definitley a process) to just let go of all the judgements, expectations, and stereotypes and have learned to love myself, and stop basing my self-worth off of season bests and PR's. I raced with that attitude and guess what? I PR'ed! I'm starting to find my best because I'm not obsessing over it, and I love it! I LOVE RUNNING!!!  

Also, super excited to run the 800 tomorrow with my awesome teammates!

Way to go Lauren, Anna, Shawnee, Lex, and Laynee! And thanks for pumping me up!!

AM: Cedar Invite!!

The race today was fun! It was really windy and started snowing and hailing, but it was still fun! I didn't PR, but that's ok. I almost won my race, but I surged too early and then a passed me in the last 25 meters. I'm glad it happend today though so that I can race smarter on Tuesday!! I'm super excited!
